My Big Day is a BIG fan of any event that benefits people and businesses in multiple ways. Great Plates is one of those events. The Fort Collins Downtown Business Association puts on this event every year, and it's benefits are three-fold: - Restaurants receive business from potentially NEW customers that have never tried their restaurant before - Customers get to try these restaurants at a great, discounted price - The Food Bank of Larimer County benefits from this event, and in turn, raises enough money to serve thousands of meals! The only problem we have is that the event only lasts two weeks, and we don't have enough time to try each restaurant!
For more information on this event, visit DowntownFortCollins.com --- but don't wait too long! The event this year is from March 1-14, 2014. And to learn more about one of our favorite non-profits, visit the Food Bank of Larimer County website: FoodBankLarimer.org CLICK HERE for a list of participating businesses! The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park is arguably one of the most beautiful hotels in Colorado. Set against a scenic backdrop, every photo of this historic hotel is simply stunning. And now you can stay at the Stanley for just $89 a night! This special offer from the Stanley is only available for 2 days! My Big Day just purchased our room! We can't wait to take the scenic drive up the canyon to Estes Park and spend some money at the local businesses in Estes. After the devastating floods, all Estes Park businesses could really use some visitors! Come join us up in Estes Park for some winter fun!

You can smell the cinnamon and spices in the air! The holidays are here, which means the season for holiday craft fairs and festivals. My Big Day uses a great resource for researching and posting craft shows. Mile High on the Cheap is a website that allows you to research and list holiday shows up and down the front range. All listings are for FREE fair, unless otherwise indicated. From Castle Rock to Fort Collins, you can find a comprehensive list for every craft fair. You'll even find holiday festivals at schools, churches, small bazaars, and HUGE extravaganzas! Shop for unusual gifts, many handmade by local artists and artisans, at upcoming holiday arts and crafts shows, festivals and bazaars. Because you usually buy directly from the creators, prices are reasonable — and sometimes downright bargains. CLICK HERE to go to the Mile High on the Cheap website and see the interactive map of listings, and long list of shows by date. Can you feel it? The excitement in the air? The cool breeze of Fall coming in? The anticipation of thousands of little witches and goblins...? I admit, I still get that excited feeling in my stomach when I think of Halloween and what costume I might wear every year. Dressing up and pretending to be someone or something else for a night is so much fun! That's probably why I've been hosting Halloween parties since I can remember.
Thank you to K99 in Northern Colorado for compiling this great list of the many places you can find your Halloween Costume this year!
